How To Register Your Vehicle Legally Without A Home Address

Hey Everyone! I am making the switch from Colorado to South Dakota and wanted to share a loophole for nomads which is VERY useful! There are 7 counties in South Dakota which allow the DMV to issue tags for non-residents, PERFECT for nomad living! All you need is the following documents to submit your paperwork…

  1. Copy of your Driver’s License

  2. Original Title

  3. Proof of your SS# (paycheck with your SS# on it, tax returns, etc.)

  4. Phone number and email address

Once you’ve download the Title Application Form, all you need to do is fill out Sections 3 and 4.

Required fields of information…

Section 3 - Name, SS#, and address where you want your tags/registration sent.

Section 4 - Make, model, color, fuel type and odometer if the vehicle is under 9 years old.

Sign the bottom, include $10, and send in the form to:
